The BTCC boys cmpletely disconnect the ARB's for a wet race.
To get the most grip in the wet, you need some body roll to load the outside tyres and break the water film.
You barely get any grip from the inside tyres naturally keying into the surface texture, as they are too lightly loaded to break the water film and it just act as a lubricant.
Without any body roll, all tyres will struggle to break the film and the car will slide very easily. Uneveness in the surface will greatly exagerate the tendancy to slide.

Thanks Pete! I feared that adding these would make my car handle skittish in the wet... but sounds like ths isn't the case... not sure I would go as far as the BTCC boys though...

But just replacing the drop links is not going to make your roll resistance much higher, they are more about providing a more direct feel and consistent load up as the body rolls.
Personally, I would do it as the cars I've driven with this done in the wet were as good as standard (and better in the dry!! )

Speaking as someone who has just fitted the MRT solid drop links, I'd recommend it.
The changes have been subtle. I can't honestly say that I've seen a change in the amount of body roll but the front end does understeer slightly less. Where as previously I didn't have the confidence to turn in late to a corner, I do now.
In the wet I've noticed none of the problems you suggest, if anything it's improved in the wet because of the better turn in.
N.B. Everything else in the suspension is standard.
Hope this helps, Mike

IMHO, no negative impact (unless you get noisy ones).
I've got the bl00dy expensive Prova ones, but TBH they are fabulous. NB: that's on my heavy B4, so I probably get more benefit, but I doubt you'll regret getting them on your car (fore and aft).

Matt,
I've looked through the MRT website and I can't find them either!
Stuart at TownEnd garage supplied them, very promptly I might add. They came pre packed with insructions from MRT complete with appropriate directions for front and rear. Front and rear were different too, so I'm fairly sure they make both!!
It didn't take long to fit despite being a novice car mechanic.

I can confirm they do do them for UK imprezas as I accidently ordered them for my import WRX which, incedently they don't fit A nice chap in a legacy owns them now
With the handling bit, I was under the impression that if you stiffen up the front then you promote understeer - so if you fit solid drop links to the front it should be marginally stiffer, non?

Just fitted front and rear MRT ones. Thanks to Stuart @ Townend for being open so early on a Saturday.
Initial impressions are that you get more feel of what is going on and the steering feels more connected to the front wheels, some of the woolyness has gone.
Its wet now so I'm off for a bit play
