hello all
i have just bought a 2005 wrx to replace my classic
already i have put on new rear shocks to solve the usual rear end knock
but now i have noticed a front end knock
it sounds just like the classic did when the rear drop links got bad
do these different drop links on the front end on the alloy wishbones sound the same when they fail? are they prone to failure?
i first noticed it when driving on a layby with an undulating surface

Ive got the same problem 2005 wrx , drop links replaced still nocking on front and binding and knocking at back .so I took it to chevron motor sports , , suspension wizard's ! And its the shocks front and back .the originals shocks are prone to failure. Its a really common problem on the 04 &05 .

What shocks did you use to replace the rear shocks if you dont mind me asking ?

hello mate, replaced the front drop links it is nice and quiet now.
after talking to camskill and scoobyworld to verify part numbers i got kyb ultra sr which are standard equipment on our car. it seems for 2005 model year they put the alloy front wishbones on the front and sti shocks on the rear, not sure about the front shocks or what else they did. apart from the dash obviously.

Cheers for that bud .earlier today I ordered some second hand sti shocks ,, bit of a risk but really cheap .so in theory they should be the same as whats on the car now but not shafted lol. If there no good I will send them back and go down the kyb sr route .cheers
