Default bounce over pot holes

I drive a blob sti sat on a set of BC Coilovers (BR series), Whiteline Anti-lift kit and a full fast road geomentry setup.

I understand coilovers are quite a harsh ride in comparison to the standard suspension and the other not so race like brands but I find that when going over pot holes or road humps I feel as if I am about to fly out my seat.

It just feels quiet rough and harsh. When driving at speed the car feels grounded and tight which is nice until I drive over a pot hole does the car seem to jump.

Its lovely when driving at speed but a pain in the **** when driving around town at times.

Which parts could be a contrbuting factor? Are there any bushes which could be worn out, or uprated to improve the comfortability of the car. Setting the BC to the soft setting is not an option (currently set to 10 from the soft side anyway), that makes the car very bouncey IMHO. I'd like to go down the route of bushes but which ones do people change?

Cheers

What are your dampers set to? You may have them cranked up too high.

What spring rate did you go for?

Or just go over speed humps slower and try to AVOID potholes

Missed the bit about it being 10 from soft. If you have any higher than the 5/4KGmm comfort spec springs, then it's probably that, if anything, the dampers aren't set high enough for the springs, hence the bounce, when the spring is subject to a large compression or expansion.

Do you run the same damping rate all around? If so, try adjusting so that the rears are approaching half the rate of the fronts e.g. try 16 from soft at the front and 8 from soft at the rear.

Cheers I think I may try that however are there no bushes which could be uprated which would soften the bumps

I think you will find it is a common issue with coil overs and the uk roads, i have had various impreza's at different levels of tune and suspension set ups, oem, uprated struts and springs, few different coil overs inc AST's and the original suspension fitted to the mk1 gob-stopper all the coil overs on flat surface were brilliant and couldn't fault them but on bumpy roads the car felt un-easy which is why i am stuck with my new hatch on what to do. mind says coil overs for the track use but its on the road as a daily runner 80-90% of the time so i think fit the later my11 struts and pro-r springs for an all round package, if needed anti roll bars and bushes etc at a later date

its a hard one
