Time to address the wheel arch gaps!
Hi all
Its time to lower the blob wrx but am confused with differing opinions on kits, i was looking at the tein s kit as i had that on my MR2 Turbo and had no snags with it, any ideas, recommends?

A slammed car will not handle, but will look good
If you fit the Tein S-Tech's or similar, the travel in the dampers will be greatly reduced, you will be almost on the bump stops so any spirited driving will be crashing onto them
which will hurt. Generally the Impreza likes suspension travel, and lowering by anything more that an inch leads to negative handling issues.Are you running std shocks/springs?
I'm getting Eibach Pro-Kit springs fitted to my Blob Wagon Tomorrow, along with new dampers. Eibach claim a 20-30mm drop with this spring kit, so I'll be interested to see how it looks. Relaly I'm after compliant suspension and good roadholding primarily, with improved handling hopefully. If it's terrible, I'll go back to standard springs. If it drives nicely and looks good too, then that's a bonus!

don't sti drivers swap out their springs due to them being too 'bouncy' ??
I'm in the same boat as the op (but drive a blob sti) and am un-sure weather to go coil-overs or a good set of springs.
will dropping a car say 25-40mm on coil-overs worsen the handling too (compared to stock dampers/after-market springs) or slightly improve over them.?

25mm drop is fine. 40 will put you into problems - bump steer almost certainly, too much droop (and not enough travel left), getting into a bad part of the camber curve

I have had tein flex fitted for about 6 years and have no trouble. Yes the ride is harsher than std but I uprated my suspension for handling not comfort. Some of the issues with lowering are addressed by a kit from Whiteline with new track rod ends and a lower ball joint. I also fitted the EDFC which gives my 16 damper settings so can have it soft for motorway and tighten it for the twisty bits. I normally drive it on a compromise setting.
