Default Safety Recall

Hi There
I've got a 03 Sportwagon and I've just received a Safety Recall notice from Subaru regarding
"....we have identified a long term-safety related concerns relating to possible corrosion of the transverse link which forms part of the front suspension".
Has anybody else received one of these, or is it old news and they're just catching up on their filing?!
Does anybody know what's involved?

Thanks

SU31 Safety recall, for the front transverse links, they need inspected and a test carried out on them to determine if they are safe to leave on the vehicle or need replacing. Book into your local dealer who would only be too happy to carry this out for you

Which models are affected by this recall?
Is it just Sport Wagons? Is it just Blob Eyes. Is it all new age? Is it UK models or including JDM as well.
How will Subaru ensure that every owner is notified where applicable?
Any chance of a bit more info from those in the know please.

Had a recall letter this morning for my 51 sportwagon. If it`s the bottom arms, mine split last year and I replaced them both. If it`s the bottom arms, then will just be wagons as saloons have alloy bottom arms.

I think its this one!:

http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/reca...=Blank&tx=VOSA
Numbers Involved : 23010
Forester and Impreza - 01/01/2002 to 31/12/2007
Concern : LOWER CONTROL ARMS MAY FAIL
Description : The front Transverse links (lower Control Arms) may corrode leading to possible breakage if left without treatment.
Remedial Action : Either additional rust proofing or replacement of the Transverse links will be performed according to the degree of corrosion.

If so then this includes mine too

It does not affect alloy arms just steal ones , they then get checked to see if they need replacement .

UK and europe models newage impreza and forester .

If you get a letter then your car is effected ..

Then follow the letter advice

I have a 51 plate bugeye sport wagon and mine snapped last year and I had to pay out for a replacement, how can I check if mine needs a recall?
Thanks dean

If you had them replaced last year, they`ll be fine.

there will still be a recall to have them tested regardless as subaru wont know the end user has had them changed.

mine is a 55 plate Impreza saloon and is not affected.
I phoned my local dealer, they ran a check based on the VIN number.

I received my notification from Subaru UK.
I just called up my local Main Dealer in Chelmsford & I'm booked in for Friday for the check.
I told them my reg plate, he didn't need any reference info from my notification paperwork.
Suggest you call up your local dealer, chances are he's already done a few.
