Question Alloy wishbones upgrade for GF8

Hi im going to fit alloy wishbones to my GF8 and notice that the only diffrents to steel ones are mounts for drop links and the bush sits about 10mm further.I know people done it before but not sure about drop links and how much will move wheel forward,any help well apreciate thnx

I think your right as there is a massive weight diffrents between them,however not experience on how week or stiff they are compare to steel ones.Any advise welcome...

You hit a curb hard and you'll drive home on a steel one, albeit it bent. On an ally one it will more than likely snap the only difference if they are GC8 ally ones is the droplinks IIRC

Got steel on the wagon and alloy on the saloon. Makes little difference tbh mate the only benefit is better clearance for underbracing with the alloy ones

i have 4 point and 2 point lower braces to go on yet so fitting alloy ones will help then and just need to get new drop links,which one would you suggest??Anyway will keep steel one just in case

Hmmm... what about the added fettling options? Increased camber available, strut choices, flippable rear mounting pin for extra castor, weight reduction, front wheels sitting differently in arch's...?

Those are solid front DL's to be fitted on your alloy wishbones, right?

If this is so, they are not really designed for that application. You are better off using the standard rose jointed ones
