Default cant get rear strut back on!

I had hell of a time getting it off in the first place because the bolts were seized, i have now done the overhaul to stop the clunk but i cannot get the strut back in place . All the angles look wrong for the bolts to go back in. Its as if i need to push down on the disc and push it inwards at the same time which it wont do.
Has anyone had this problem putting the rear struts back on an sti or have do i need to undo something else.
Its as if the strut is now an inch longer than when it came out!!
Help please
cheers

Alright mate it can be a right pain to man handle it too the right position to get a bolt through but I find the best way is to get a long punch in one of the hole's and put pressure in whichever direction is needed to start the bolt in the other hole

When you jack one side up it puts the arb under tension which can move the hub into a funny position making it difficult to get the bolts back in! If you jack both sides up at the back it relieves this tension making the fitting of the struts easier!

Did mine yesterday. As previously said, took two of us with a bit of effort.

Default thanks

Thanks for your help guys, the shockers are now fitted back on .
While im cleaning up the car is it worth removing the front shocks and re greasing them or dont they wear like the back ones?
Dont think i have noticed any noise from the front but thought while its off the road i could remove and grease them (even though i dont fancy it lol )
cheers
