Suspension opinions
Right guys need anyone who cares to comments opinion.
My Bugeye Wrx rear dampers are on the way out, not bad after 70k compared to some i hear.
Anyway I am after peoples opinion of what suspension to get.
I am planning on once sorted taking the car to a few trackdays, that said I don't want a ride thats going to be crashy or rock solid making it horrible and unsuitable for everyday use.
I am not sure if I should just upgrade the dampers all round and leave the OE springs or go the whole hog and replace springs and dampers (was thinking poly bush it all at same time?).
I would like any suggestions from people with thoughts and experience of changed suspension of what make to replace it all with and if you can advise rough costings of the parts would be excellent.
Cheers

Yeah been looking at KYB's today but I was thinking of going slightly upgraded from standard maybe adjustable damping and a matched lowering spring kit. I dont think I need coilovers but have been looking today and am a bit loathed to get new springs and dampers which i have to buy separately when they cost as much or more than coilovers

Hi mate,I was having exactly the same dilemma as you, coilovers too harsh for everyday use?,full set of new dampers/springs?,in the end I bit the bullet and went for BC coilovers-impressed!,not harsh at all 30 way adjustment, mine set 12 from soft rear 14 from soft front lowered 10mm rear,25mm front,I reckon not much harder than brand new OE STI setup, hope this helps,my car 2005 STi widetrack by the way

Cool cheers for that I was wondering about BC looked at them and they are very well priced seen them for £650. Only thing with coilovers is i am only after a minor drop in ride height max 30mm more like 20-25mm and I just wonder if they are going to be too fiddly with all the possible adjustment available trying to get a decent setup is going to be tricky.

I can only speak from my own experience, but I have only done a bit of tweaking rather than fiddling(if that makes sense),once you are happy with the height, its just a case of getting the right amount of ride comfort for your needs, takes less than a minute to adjust all four corners

I have decided that I don't think I want to go down the route of coilovers, so therefore have been looking at either just replacing the worn rear dampers with OE KYB items and then some lowering springs maybe Eibach. The other option I have looked at is Koni adjustable dampers and spring set, thing with this is that it lowers by 35-40mm and I really didn't want to go lower than 30mm.
Any suggestions/ideas?
