Hi, my98 uk wagon's last strut is now fubared. So time for some coilovers. I have been looking but everywhere is selling with different spring rates. I use the car for road and track but soon to be just a weekend and track toy.
So what should i be going for?
Cheers

Hi Mike
Have you got any sorted now? I am in a similar position myself and my car is a weekend and track toy, I'm thinking something like 7/5 but am keen to hear what others are running.

I have been recomended 4/3 with slightly longer stroke dampers for my classic wagon but i specifically wanted a setup that will work for more technical, rough roads with alot of compressions and crests
for example the A93 south of the ski center
so i wanted compliancy and travel as i beleive it will be the fasted setup for roads like that.
5/4 i think is what alot go for as a good firm but not uncomfortable, 6/5 on a classic i think will be pretty stiff but may well work nicely for your needs. The BC group buy thread has some good info which i have basically just stolen

I've got 4/3 BCs on my v5 wagon for daily driver/fast road use. They're the closest to the stock STi suspension that was great, but a bit too well used at 100k.
Can't comment on track use, but the dampers give plenty of adjustment for road use. Maybe 5/4 is a better combo for a weekend toy, but avoid going too stiff as good suspension is all in the damping.

I'm not too fussed about it being quite stiff, as I want my car to have a more of a track focus, I have read on here of people running 8/6 !! Tein do a 7/5 combo which might work well but I think I'm going to have a couple of passenger rides before making my mind up fully
