Front subframe brace
I have seen pictures on various Subaru forums of alloy braces to replace the Subaru heavy weight item on the newage impreza's. Unfortunately I cannot find them to see where people got them from. Can any body point me in the right direction.
Thanks Steve

ABW do them but they only come as a 3 piece set and cost just shy of £700.i wanted the same thing but only want the front brace itself and not the other 2 side bits that come with it.

must be me that miss under stood then, thought the £690 was for the 3 piece kit.to cut a long story short,i ordered a front under brace from ABW,but when it turned up it was a different piece, which i didnt want.so it was sent back.when on the phone with ABW he told me the front brace was only sold as a 3 piece kit.so if the £690+vat is for the 5 piece kit then, can you buy the 3 piece or even just the front piece seperatly.

The 5 pieces are a front cross member piece (the piece you want) and two side chassis braces. This comes as a 3 piece kit although I don't know if you can buy it as a 3 piece it does have it's own product number. The other two pieces are an H-brace compatible with the side braces and a 6 point subframe plate brace (my favourite piece ). It's sold as a kit because it works as a total subframe replacement but I would enquire about the 3 pieces as certainly the subframe and h-brace can be bought separately.
I have a subframe 6 point and a h-brace on my classic as there is no fitting for the 3 piece on the classic
Awesome kit and much more cornering grip I have found.

it was the 6 point plate brace that i was sent by mistake, but i thought it wasnt really needed as i still have the standered one on that looks as it would do exactly the same job.really nice set up btw.

The 6 point is undoubtedly more of an upgrade for the classic, which only bolts front to back at 4 points, but even on the newage you are stabilising the wishbone directly point to point rather than by proxy through the subframe itself.
It's a great setup if you can stretch to it. Having tested it on many a favourite roundabout it grips so much more, you can turn much tighter and the car will skip before you wash or slide
On the classic its even more stable IMHO as you brace the wishbone front and back and then to the chassis.
