Default rear coilover nightmare

well i thought i got myself a bargain, bought a set of kw variant 3 off ebay 100 quid i knew the rears where leaking but i knew could get them fixed up,so i sent them off to curtis in powerststion (wot a top bloke so easy to talk to) but he phoned me told me they were knackered needed new pistons and other bits to so they can be fixed, anyway to the point i dont wanna give up on them and scrap them so was wondering if anyone has a pair of rear coilovers lying in their garage or something dont have to be kw and will pay good money for them just so long there not leaking if not does anyone know how much i would pay for new pistons hope someone can help cheers

Hi mate i doubt it would be cheep to repair them given that the work required is prob the guts of a new set minus the outer case. Might be interested in taking them off you if you want to sell them on. I have a set of inverted RM series BC's that are virtually new on my classic RA track car, these are a higher spec than the standard BC's and are a very good road set up. I need to change them as i need a set with seperate bump and rebound adjustment so a total rebuild of a set of KW's although expensive might be a option for me.
Drop me a PM if your interested

You can try e-mail Kw for a price to fix or to buy a new one. They usually reply back in a week

i had emailed kw and they confirmed that they were veriant 3 from the number on the damper i give them anyway they said it would be 85 quid+vat for each damper to rebuild plus additional costs for any new parts needed, where as curtis quoted me 65 all in per damper he recons about 250 quid would buy all the parts but to contact kw to find out either way its still cheap for these as the coilovers are 1200 new so dont know wot to do defo need new suspension as my standard ones are well past it there now rock solied and not doing much damping.
