Coilover setup
Hi
was just wondering if someone can answer me a quick question
I've got coilovers that I'm looking to get fitted shortly and at the same time the tracking, geometry and maybe a bit of camber will also be getting done.
The tyres I have on just now are pretty unevenly worn so i'll be getting new ones shortly aswell, if I were to get the coilovers set up on the worn tyres then put new ones on would this have a negative effect to all the work thats just been done ?
Maybe a silly question but I dont know
thanks

No, the geometry is set via the wheels so condition of the tyres is not particularly important.
Get the ride height, front and rear, established before you get the geometry done. DON'T be tempted to go too low! Ride height must be checked on flat and level ground. Uneven surface will cause any one particular spring to be slightly extended or compressed.
What coilovers have you got and for what car? I've recently fitted Apex units to my 03 STi so could give some tips if your set-up is similar.

Thanks
I've got a classic type r, I've got myself a set of cusco coilovers, There height and rebound adjustable and I can also adjust the camber on the fronts. TBH I've got no idea how to set them up so am going to need to get it done for me.
I do like the ride standard but would like to go about 20-25mm lower, what do you think ? too low ?
