Original Suspension and Coilovers
I have a 2000 registration Impreza Turbo 2000, it's on standard suspension and i am running 18" wheels with 215/35 tyres with no rubbing.
I'm looking to get 225/40 tyres for my 18" wheels to improve grip on track, but looking at the position of the spring leg, where the spring sits, it looks as if it will rub on the tyre as the radius is an extra .5" around:
If i got coilovers, for example:
The spring are a lot thinner and the spring leg where it seats the spring is a lot thinner.
Am i right in thinking as the legs and spring seat/housing (Terminology ha?) is thinner i will have more space to get the tyres i want, allow the extra diameter not to rub and be able to lower it?
Also i am right in thinking anything below the spring is fixed and won't move?
Thanks
