Default Knocking from an STi front

Hi everyone

I have an 06 STi which has always had a bit of a knocking noise from the front left, which has got worse over time. It tends to happen when the front left is loaded, for example braking into a t-junction with a slight right turn on. Not hard braking, just average braking.

Dealer has changed the drop links and the d-bushes, but it hasn't helped at all unfortunately.

Other than changing a shock is there anything else it could be? Is the shock likely? It's a repeated knocking noise, not just a single knock - more of a knockety-knockety-knock until you come t o a halt. Also triggered by a very bumpy road.

Any thoughts welcome as I'm getting really frustrated by it!

Goes well Especially after recent work by GRD

If it's the shock, wouldn't the spring be compressed during braking and therefore less likely to be knocking?

Do a search on here.
STI newage shocks are prone to this problem.
There's a thread of over 20 odd pages on people saying what they've done to resolve it.
A colleague at work with a blob had his back shocks replaced under warranty - same issue. It's well known - they knock.
It's not dangerous, just annoying. If you want rid of it, buy aftermarket ones seems to be the general consensus.
