Hi all i wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can shed a light to it....When stopping up at junctions my 2005 wrx back end decides to just sit down till i set off, ive been under the car and can find no general fault or anything lose, Its driving me insane...

what happens if you stand to the side of your car and try to "bounce" it at the rear?

Does it keep "bouncing" after you stop, or does it just return to the correct position immediately and stays there?

 

It just returns to the correct position and stays there,

 

I'm afraid its your rear shocks on the way out. The only way to cure it is new shocks. I had exactly the same problem so had BC coilovers fitted at Scoobyworld, problem gone !
