will blob wrx suspension fit a bug and can i use the top mounts off a bug on the blob struts

 

any suspension guru's out there i have a set off 05 wrx struts that im wanting to put on my 02 wrx as going to put lowering springs on so if the struts have to come off the car might aswell replace them with the newer struts (only covered 5,000 miles) will theese be a streight swap or do i need the 05 top mounts aswell

The rear tophat mounting to the strut changed at 04, so you can't use your 02 tophats on the 05 directly.

HOWEVER I am using older tophats on 05 by using a small length (about 8mm) of 15mm copper tube (domestic plumbing) to centralise the tophat on the later strut, once the topnut is torqued up the spacer does nothing, its just to centre it while torquing up.
