Hello

I carry an LPG tank in my boot and with the extra weight the suspension suffers a bit, its worse if you add the kids and luggage.
The standard set up just cant cope, and the car bottoms out alot.

Now I tried cusco coilovers and the problem was solved but this made thing very uncomfortable for me the missus and the kids I could hear their teeth rattling lol. (Cuscos taken off and sold)

Any recommendations which might solve the issue is there anything that could offer both comfort and stiffer the hold the back end up a little better?

The car I have is a facelift classic wagon 2000

You could try a softer coilover. I've just fitted BCs but running the softest front spring rate (4kg/mm) and a non standard (3.5kg/mm) rear. This is about the same as the standard STI wagon suspension that came off the car and besides slight increase in harshness on very bad roads, its close to stock.

For family/everyday use I run about 1/3 of the way from soft which leaves plenty of scope to go stiffer if I want to use the car properly or put a heavy load in the boot. Obviously you can't go too low on a 'soft' spring, mines only about 10-15mm lower than standard STi.

From what you have said would is the STI set up stiffer/better than the standard stuff on my turbo 2000. otherwise I think I will have to look more into the coilover option

yeah the sti of a 99 or 2000 plate classic is stiffer but still forgiving on the old teeth but to find a nice set of second hand one will be hard and to buy new i think your looking at 300 pound a corner or somthing like that i pick a nice set up two years ago but then they were 8 yeras old then and are no starting to go so i think it will be bc for me next

As Happydude says, the STi setup is surprisingly comfortable, just these days you'll struggle to find any that aren't knackered or pay £££ for a new set.
I had been planning to go for KYB AGXs and keep the old springs, but BCs were offered on here for less.

Thanks guys, I have done some digging I have been offered some BC's for £350 with less than 5K miles on them that sound good?
