Default 55 plate (Blobeye) STi rear rattle????

I have a 55 plate (Wide track) STI and have heard a rattling sound coming from the O/S/R and now and again the N/S/R. Have checked underneath but everything seems ok. Spoke to a mate who is supposed to know about these cars and he suggested the rear shocks? Car has done 50,000 miles.
Any help greatly appreciated.

There is no cure, you have to buy a new shock absorber, Subaru will charge you £360 (plus fitting), per side, or you could buy a set of coilovers - £600 - £2.5k depending on spec

Apparently you can temorarily cure it buy re-packing the top-mount with grease, but this won't last long.
