my car has 35mm lowering springs and im a bit concerened about the height as im going to be fitting 18" alloys with 35 profile tyres,i might have to change them to 20-25mm lowering springs and i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get some,also has anyone fitted 35mm springs with 18" wheels? what are your thoughts on this? thanks in advance.

 

depends on offset of rims + width etc

my inovits are et42 running 215/35/18's - so 8mm from perfect on a classic (50 is perfect iirc?) im lowered on whiteline flat out springs rated at 40-50mm and it rubs on bad bumps.

im having my arches pulled/rolled by archenemy.co.uk to help out. you shouldnt have to change springs.

 

although my car has 35mm rated springs,it seems really low and it is sat on 16" rims at mo,the wheels going on are 18x7.5 rota gra,i believe the offset is 48? i had 5 people in car last night and it seemed close to rubbing,on the 16s is 50 profile tyre,will the car raise with the 18s or does or not work like that?

 

no it wont raise mate it will sit different

48's should be fine, you shouldnt have a problem but if you do, be easier and cheaper to have your arch rolle..depending on where they rub.

 

I posted a tread on here about a month ago asking will 18s rub or not been lowered, many told me thats why there is so many 18s for imprezas for sale as they rub, but other were saying they are lowered 60mm and no rubs even with 4 up i'm not sure how true this is though

 

Subaru sell the 18" WRC alloys to fit the P1 which have Eibachs fitted as standard so there are some alloys/springs combo's that work officially.

 

thanks guys,i think its trial and error and i think if i have to then ill change the springs for 20mm etc lowering springs,my 35mm springs just looks really low with 16s on!

 

Tbh mate if I were you I would get in touch with bilstien to rule out a problem with the shocks.Or the springs could be defective (sagging) speak to eibach.

I will use this as my example I had a E36 M3 with bilstein (yellow) shocks and the eibach pro kit

the springs lowered the car iirc front 25 rear 15mm but the design of the bilstein shocks actually raised the car by a couple of mm and that was on 17 inch wheels I then put on 19's and I had no rubbing.
but kept the rolling radius the same

Obviously each application is different but its worth asking the designers of the springs shocks and doing a bit of simple maths to see how low you car should sit on std wheels then allowing for the bigger wheels.

You should deffo look into the std offset for your car and find out what is the best ofset for 18's

I asked Cvc subaru in cardiff if I wanted to fit 18's with no rubbing, what size tyres would I need and the reply was 205/35/18 but once again it depends on the offset.
