what would you do next
ok just wondering, what you would do / recomend to do next in the suspension department if you had the below. not looking to do anything immediatly but for future! was thinking mayb keep an eye out for some import wishbones + alk
Front top strut brace
Rear top strut brace
middle strut brace/harness bar
Front 22mm whiteline rollbar + wire drop links
Rear 24mm whiteline rollbar + solid drop links
Polybushed steering rack
Tein s-techs on Ohlins shocks
Limited really but few options..
replace front steel wishbones for alloy + polybush?
anti lift kit?
uprated rear trailing arms (adjustable or sti)
or buy a full polybush kit

Steve @ RE Motorsport has poly-bushed his car and swears by it, I'd almost suggest a H-brace for the lower front end, to keep the wishbone/ALK mounts from crushing together.
Adjustable trailing arms are ultra expensive.... lateral adjustable arms aren't too bad, IIRC.

You've been in mine, lateral G squeezing the bodyshell on high grip tyres....
It keeps the front wishbones pointing in the correct direction. IMHO
Got fuel surge at Blyton on Saturday using R888's, even with 1/2 a tank in....
Better use crap tyres next time.

Change all the bushes to poly ones as then there will be no movement and once the wheel alignment is setup sorted. I also have a shedload of whiteline, ARB's, Roll kit, Diff bolts, aswell as all the bushes changed for Powerflex items. The road noise is slightly more but that is why there is a volume button on the stereo.

Rear subframe locking bolts (whiteline, circa £20) really tighten up the rear making it feel much more positive.
Whiteline ALK (or similar from Perrin etc) is a good move, it increases castor (the car will track straighter under power), replaces one bush per front arm with a polybush and reduces understeer under power by changing the anti-lift front suspension geometry to pro-lift and thus effectivley softening the front suspension. Just don't call it an Anti-Lift Kit (even Whiteline only call it ALK now) as its actually pro-lift!
Ally front arms are a good move, lighter and stiffer, slightly more castor (and with ALK you can add more still, or use Forester bushes if the ally's give enough to get the pro-lift effect) and are lighter reducing unsprung mass.
What geometry are you running, to be honest that is more important than almost any other single mod!
Telling us what your base vehicle is would help! (S-reg classic UK turbo for those who don't want to search).

Personally I'd bin the s-techs and fit a spring more orientated towards handling than looks, no more than a 1" drop from stock ride height is adviseable, any more ruins the front geometry in roll.
Ok, whiteline flat outs do? If your going to say stuff like that atleast give me an idea - because springs for imprezas are quite limited as everyone seems to just go coilovers

Im too close to getting the car done to take it apart again now, these can wait until new engine goes in and il do the LOT, polybush, alloy arms, trailing arms & lateral arms

i fitted the superpro poly bush kit to my car was a complete b#stard to do on my drive but well worth the effort as the car tracks better and feel much more positive on turn in and far more responsive to steering inputs.
there is a little more road noise but not a hugh differance. try eibach pro kit springs they are supposed to be a good spring kit about 25-30mm drop if i remember correctly. i was told that eibach make prodrives springs so i guess they know what they are doing.
my car is fitted with the following suspension mods
eibach pro street s coilovers
22mm eibach front arb
24mm eibach rear arb
perrin stout mounts for rear arb
front and rear strut braces
full super pro polybush kit
whiteline alk
whiteline roll centre adjustment kit
whiteline steering rack bushes
whiteline rear subframe lock kit
revolution fast road allignment
as dunx has said polybushing is well worth it . i did it because my car was high milage(171,000) and the standard bushing was well tired and past its best

Springs, go for circa 1" lower, eibach or whiteline (the one for 1" drop, can't recall if that's the flatouts or not) or a Prodrive (as RB5) set are best, their are others as well, some probably fine
The ALK is a very simple/quick fit job and very worthwhile, so wouldn't right it off!
