No.....the later STi's use different mounting knuckles, that doesn't apply to WRX.
The later WRX dampers are inverted type and use the later type top mount, but I'm using the physically identical 2003 STi units on mine using original tophat and spring, you just need to be sure the tophat is centred on the strut as the mounting is different, believe it or not a short (about 15mm long) piece of 15mm diameter copper plumbing pipe works perfectly, it only has to hold it centred until the top nut is torqued when it becomes redundant.
