If i was to change the springs on my classsic would the shocks be good enough?

 

Your springs, if original will be at least 8 years old. I'd suggest they won't be good enough to appreciate the newer springs. When I changed from a 35 k ,3 yr old Impreza to a new one, the difference was quite noticeable.

Go for the kit, you should get matched shocks and springs that way.
