Best way to remove strut top nut?

Default Best way to remove strut top nut?

Just in the middle of swapping over springs on my blobeye impreza and just a bit stuck with the top nut.
i have the right size sockets and allen key but is there a special tool or an easy way to get this un-done?
Any help would be great

Just take your time, I tried a mallet and the allen part split meaning I couldn't get it off.

In all honesty, an air wrench is the best tool.

Managed to get the back one off but as the front strut top spins it is a bit more difficult, looks like the allen key bit had already been rounded on one of the fronts so will have to find a vice tommorow and get a bar or air wrench on it then!
First time changing them by my self, but once you see how one comes appart you get an idea of what needs doing to the then.

I ended up drilling my top nut off, but he swarf got into the top mount - oops

At least whiteline do a suitable, fully adjustable, replacement

Seemed almost too good to be true I was heard telling the wife

I wrap a cloth around the shock with a pair of mole grips and then just undo the top nut with a socket.

I hope your using spring clamps? I just used an impact gun all 4 came off no bother
