Default knocking issue!

I have a knocking comeing from the top mount on my o/s/r shock.

im currently running ohlin fully adjustable coilovers. i have fixed the issue temporarily every time i try. it goes away for a day or 2 then comes back.

what i have tried.

tightening the 22mm bolt on top of shock.
moving the camber ever so slightly so the top plate sits more away from the car.
the 22mm bolt is tight so is all the 12mm bolts and the camber adjustment bolts.
i turned the 22mm nut the other day and the spring klunked. this also stopped it for a moment

i am now stuck for my options. the knocking sounds like metal on mental and happens on un even roads. its starting to do my head in. i cant find whats wrong with it. i have checked the spring is seated right and that everything is tight

does anyone have any possible answers or has anyone experienced this before?

oh and i have search the site. the knocking come back last night and sounded like it was getting worse. i took the back bench out and got my mate to jump up and down on my sill so i could try and feel for where it was coming from. sounded like it was the spring but im still not sure. all i did was jack the car up turn the spring by hand and it had all gone away! for now
