Default Strut Brace Fitting help

OK I bought a strut brace for my Scooby and tried fitting it the other night. Problem is one side fits perfectly however on the other side one of the suspension strut bolts isnt vertical and seems to be bent slightly meaning the brace wont go on. Any thoughts on how to get this back into place as its only the one bolt hampering my progress

is it front, rear or lowerr brace, post a pic we can see what type it is . you might be able to put the bent side in first then connect up to the other with a bit of brute force or detach the centre bar until last dependant on type purchased

My bad more info would help. Its a front strut so there are three vertical bolts of which one isnt quite vertical and curves away from the centre. Means only two bolts fit into the brace and one obstructs it. Brute force is an option but I would be worried about damagint the threads. A mate suggested putting a bolt on top of the stud and tapping it with a hammer. Should sort the problema dn avoid damaging threads but am not 100% on the idea. Can get pics but not til later since Im stuck in work

Id try and use a couple of nuts off the other bolts to screw on to the bent one to protect the threads then try and knock it straight with a rubber or nylon hammer.

Again Ill work on pics but if I drill a bigger hole surely its then not going to provide as much performance as the bottom of the strut is in the right place so it may allow more movement in the suspension. Or am I being a noob?

I assume it's a front strut brace..........quite a few have only a "fork" design, I think my spare STi Titanium brace is only held on with a fork and not an intact "ring" A wider hole in the brace shouldn't affect performance.

Got this sorted took a hammer to the studs with a bolt sitting on top to protect the threads. Many thanks for the help guys. Will get a few pics up whenever I get the wagon cleaned up.

Also seems to have reduced the understeer since the suspension set up is different on the sport to the wrx and has really sharpened up the front end handling! Definately a reccommended upgrade!
