Default Type R Suspension and lowering...

Just wondering what the best option is in lowering a type r without going for coilovers? I know the standard type r suspension is pretty stiff, and i dont want any dramatic lowering, it just needs to drop 20-30mm to sit a little nicely.

but...its bumpy enough standard, would tein or avo springs make it even bumpier?
