Question Recommend me some shocks.

I have a pretty standard MY02 WRX which I am thinking of replacing in the near future. One of the rear shocks is leaking and has excessive play. My MOT is due soon so I must replace it. I will fit the parts myself.

1. I think I must replace both sides. Can I replace just the rears or must I do all four?

2. OEM parts are ~£250 for two rear shocks. That is my budget. But I want good quality because I will probably end up keeping the car for another year

3. Would coilovers on the rear with original struts on the front be a bad idea (assuming ride height unchanged)?

4. On my 205GTi I had Koni adjustables. On the Demon Tweeks website it says that

Does that mean that I have to modify the car? or use part of the original strut?

I can find Bilstein, SPAX, Koni etc. but often only in kits of 4x.

Please recommend a suitable replacement and perhaps a vendor. TIA.
