03 WRX - Whiteline advice.
Next year I should be running 340+BHP and currently have standard suspension set up.
I never race or drive the car that hard - if I wanted to improve handling without spending a fortune would Whiteline rear drop links and ARB help?
Thanks in advance.

Yes....but give you have 50% increase in power I would have thought you'd be looking for some better suspension all round to be honest!
A cheaper alternative to a WL rear ARB is a 20mm STI take off part!

waste of time fitting an sti 20mm rear bar/your old bar will be either 18mm or 19mm ,the increase in roll stiffness will minimal you need to fit 24mm rear and d/links to gain any difference in ha ndling AND a few other mods as wellif your going to increase power by 50% geo

At the moment it's an 03 WRX with PPP, Blitz Nur Spec R and STi performance panel filter.
Santa has bought me ...
VF35 turbo
Pink STi injectors
Walbro fuel pump
PFR7b plugs
I spoke to my Subaru Dealer tuning guru and he said he had done 2 other WRX's recently and achieved 340-349 bhp!
Roll on Feb 09 when the work commences!

Just got to reading this thread today.... 340bhp in a WRX.... is that possible without shelling out as much as a 2.5 STi engine would cost?
I'm on an 03 WRX too with PPP, Sports cat etc - not done the rolling road but i'm assuming i must be running near the 280bhp mark.
To get to the magic 300 I assume you will change the PPP chip to Ecutek etc?
Just wondering how you are planning on doing it (not that i want to copy you of course and build a monster WRX! lol)

The 340bhp was an est from my Subaru Dealer but to be honest anything over 320bhp is good enough for me !
So if I did get a Whiteline rear 24mm ARB and droplinks would that be a good start? Will I need a 4 wheel alignment once fitted?

The alignment isn't affected by the ARB, but you could go for a more "aggressive" set-up, at the expense of tyre life...
Would suggest the adjustable version, as you get three settings, near std., fast road, and "driftu-spec".
imho

I'm pretty much along the same path but work completed by powerstation 6 months ago. VF34, ECUtek etc.. producing 321bhp on the their R/R advised not to go further as gearbox won't handle it!!
By the way get your brakes done straight away, i went for STi 10 set up.
This is the point where the extra dosh for an STi would have paid off
Anyway to original subject! goin for whiteline 24 rear (middle sedtting) & 22 fr (hard) arb's, droplinks & ALK following advise from the majority.
will post my thoughts!
Your in Bristol area, goin to beefeater @ emersons green tomorrow (sunday 4th) if your about.
mark.
