Front passanger side knocking noise?
Scoob has now got a knocking noise from the pass side. like a metal banging when going over pot holes, bumps etc. Noise only not a vibration.
I have carried out the following:
Searched scoobynet and others for answers. Links old and end with no real answer.
Removed wheel and checked for play of suspension, seating of coil. Nil.
Have replaced front drop links with Whiteline, have had them out and replaced again for good measure. Still knocking. I cant remember if the noise started before replacing the links.
Checked for play in the ARB bushes. Nil, although will replace.
Bounced the front of the car but cant recreate the knocking. But drive over potholes and up and down curbs, you get the noise. That said drive really slowly and nothing.
Check for play in the front shafts. All good.
I'm stumped. Could it be the dampers, what do they do when the start to go?
All help appreaciated.
And I have finaly replaced the rear lights with the originals. Lexus things turned from ones I liked to ones I hated.

If your Whiteline "knock-links" are getting on, and you haven't regularly lubbed them then it's most likely those.
Mine keep twisting out of alignment, and catching on the front arm.
Top mount can be noisy, allen key in and a bit of spanner action will cure if it is.

I just sorted mine out this morning, knocking from both front over bumps/uneven ground. After reading a previous post, i removed my springs and fitted a rubber cover over the lower part of the spring that sits in the damper cup. The spring must have been able to move and rattle. This has cured it completely and i'm really happy with it now

I used a length of new coolant pipe, about 10mm diameter and 450mm long, which i sliced open and wrapped around the bottom of the spring for 1 coil. i was suprised it worked so well. Hope this helps bud.
