Default I need some help finding lowering springs for a MY06 JDM STI

Hi

I want to get my car lowered but I have called my local Subaru specialist and he checked what springs would be suitable and has come back saying that the manufacturers themselves don't know if their springs are suitable for JDM Impreza's and if the ones that are will actually drop the height of the car or not.

Anyone here got a Hawk Eye JDM STI and lowered it?

What did you use and what results did you get ?

Many thanks

Vash

Hi Vash, I have a 2006 2.5 STi Hawkeye. I bought it with Prodrive Springs and 225/40/18 Wheels & Tyres. The roadholding was ok but the ride terrible. Bounced a lot and used to lose grip on all but the best roads. I took the Prodrive Springs out and put back OEM's and the ride was greatly improved, roadholding just as good. Then I replaced the tyres & wheels with 235/45/17 wheels & tyres. Roadholding a bit compromised. Ride much better. Now I am actively investigating coilovers. Take it from me, don't change your wheels & tyres, or springs - go straight to good quality coilovers. I want a fast road car that I can use daily - maybe you want a track car. BTW I have FMIC, Typhoon intake, Cat back zorst, and about 350 BHP. Peter
