Fitting Eibach Springs to an 03 wrx.
I am wanting to put eibach lowering springs on my 03 blob with the standard shocks, just want to know if there is anything I should know about when fitting them. Are the any extra parts needed eg. extra bushes etc to go top and bottom of the spring? Also any tips from anyone who's done the job before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It is quite a simple job to be honest.
Firstly ensure you have soaked the nuts/bolts with WD40 prior to getting your spanners out.
The fronts are dead easy although ensure the top nut is loosened whilst the weight is on the suspension as when you have the strut assembly in your hands it can be tricky to loosen the nut. The best way to get the nut off/loosen is by using air tools if you have access.
There are 3 (10mm I think ) nuts at the top of the rear struts that are again a bit tricky. I think I used a 10mm ratchet spanner to make it easier.
Just rememeber the sequence of the washers etc on the top mounts as they can spring off when the top nut is removed and they need to go back on the same way.
There should be no extra bushes as you mention, but when I did mine the instructions stated that the bumpo stops need chopping to how ever much the car was to lowered, in my case 40mm (Tein springs).
The bump stops are made of a hard rubber and a junior hacksaw is adequate for the job.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I have done this job before on my previous car, a Mazda MX6 and was pretty easy really. I had the same hassle as you mention with the rear shocks as the nuts at the top were a swine to get to. I have a pair of spring compressors which makes the job easier and safer too!
You mentioned shortening the bump stops by the amount the car is lowered by. I never did this on the MX6, but saying that, I didn't know I had too. I didn't notice any adverse effects though. Is this absolutely necessary and should I get fancier ones or stick with the OE parts?

I think the reason is if you don't chop the bump stops down then at some point your car could be riding on them (with porky passengers), now the springs are lower.
