Default Coilovers knock/klunk?

Hi Guys,
My bro went to test drive an integra type-r today (fresh import) on R plate with 18k on it. The only Mod was coilovers, the problem, he said was, it was knocking at each corner as if the suspension mounts had gone. The guy told him that coilovers do tend to knock and some of the guys that worked there had civics etc that did the same with coilovers, he had it up an ramps and it looked ok. The guy did say he would put standard suspension back on it for about £60.

Do any of you guys have experience with coilovers and do they tend to make a knocking sound or is this guy talking poo?

Cheers....

I do "hear" coilovers more than normal suspension. It's not so much a clunk or banging noise though. But only when driving slow on bumpy ground - usually if I go over a pothole.

i do get a lot of knocking on my coilovers(at the rear) but dont think this is normal.
Im taking my car to a sub garage on monday for some work so im hoping to have enough time for them to take a look at the rear suspension to see whats causing it.
