Default Help with fitting KYB's and Eibachs

Hi all,

I am trying to get round to fitting the above but do a mate told me I should fit some top and bottom rubber spring seats. I don't have any of these as none came with the KYB's and I cant take any off my old suspension as I have coilovers on it right now.

Can anyone tell me if I really need spring seats as I really want to get this lot fitted asap?

Cheers,

Justin

I remember having them on my last cavalier, but when I changed the shocks and spings on my bugeye WRX last year there was a distinct lack of them at the bottom. I sort of remember some at the top, but I'm away and don't have the car to check. Fine on the MOT, knocks a little at slow speed over bumps but I do have solid top mounts as well.

just fitted new kyb dampers and new eibachs to my car last weekend.

dont know what coilovers are like but this is what i reused from original setup.

there are no rubber spacers between bottom of front springs and dampers.
there are rubber spacers between bottom of rear springs and dampers.
obviously you have gaitor and bumpstops at each corner.
at front you need top mounts, a slightly conical washer, top cup and bush spacer.
at rear you need top mount and bush spacer.

reusing original stuff i have no knocks or bangs. i did consider using coil wrap but there was no need.

hope this helps somewhat

Thanks for your input guys, looks like I am best off to find a cheap set of old suspension so I can nick the bits needed off them.

Now I just have to find some!
