LEDA - Fitted today
#1
OK so it was change upto the Sti for 6k or carry on modding. Well I went for the Leda kit (Thanks to Dave, Chris & Stuart) & Pete C.
What a difference overall the car was lowered 50 mm front & 45 mm at the back....Aggressive looking or what, & the handling has become phenomenal, running 5 clicks front & rear.......Only done 350 miles since fitted though it has been great especially down country roads....

Zippy, the other half said to me yesterday if a pile of pooh was featured as a mod for a subaru - then I'd be buying it......
I'm stopping shortly all mods except one of those flashing scrolling screens, as I may be persuaded to buy a prodrive Sti, going for another test drive saturday 7 then I can begin modding all over again.
Scott, down Scoobysport this Saturday around 10.00 am for the new scoop (Zippy it's a whole inch taller than the old version & air is free so I might as well have more of it passing over the intercooler!!!). So I'll take you out then......but don't be upset at the stance or handaling but for 1600 notes it has transformed the car.......
Dave TS - its absolutley amazing if someone had told me this from the start...........I would have had it 6 months ago....
It really is that good especially down my local country roads......

Glad you like it
Look forward to that promised ride
Re the Sti
Whilst it is a very nice car After a test drive I have decided to have the 330d for the co car and let Mr Croney loose in September on my WRX
Reason I can't see myself not wanting to Mod the Sti after all the fun I have had with my WRX

Dave u have a go today?
My other half took it out & enjoyed it, but didn't like it as much as our current model all modded up, & the rev counter light worried her everytime she hit 4,500 (thank god the buzzer wasn't set)
I'm waiting till they get the prodrive version on feb 6th.......though with my car modded as it is, I believe its hard to beat & then prodrive are releasing a ppp package in Quarter 2, so I may wait until then.....
How much you pay for the STi 7 scoop, you wanna sell it tom me, though you'll have to fit it....I'm in all night!!!

What took you so bloody long mate!!!!!
It goes like this - last month, we were selling Carolyn's Impreza altogether. She then decided against it.
Yesterday morning we were sitting on the train, Carolyn reading the paper, me reading Jap Performance - I don't normally buy it, but it caught my eye on the shop shelf because it had the STI7 UK on the front cover.
Carolyn finishes paper, asks to read my JP mag......
All goes quiet, five minutes later....."I want one" says a little voice sitting next to me.....one means two, of course
Deal done by Saturday afternoon......just waiting for confirmation of delivery....
Bloody women, eh?

Re the test drive, here's what I posted in Dr Evil's STI thread:
Well......drove an STI7 demonstrator today - conclusions?
Only had 167 miles on the clock, but for only 265bhp it went quite well in a straight line.
Handling - suspension is NOT as good as Leda on our WRX's. Rides too high, and a bit too much body roll for my liking. Once someone sorts a set of -20mm ride height slightly stiffer springs it will be perfect.
You notice the Suretrac diff in the front. It does haul it round bends (but the turn in of Leda and 18's is much better than standard WRX anyway).
The six speed box has short throw and a good feel to it.
It is, as I have maintained from my suspicions, a totally different car to a modded WRX.
It needs more grunt, to be lowered a bit, and a full decat (that alone will probably give close to 300bhp) and it will be spot on.

Actually, Edward @ Days did say I probably knew more about modded Imprezas than him, and asked how much I thought he should put our cars on his forecourt for
It was tempting to say £26k so give us £24k each for them, but didn't think even I could bullsh1t my way through that one

The UK300 isn't a Days stock car, it's on commission/sale or return.....at that price, I think it will be going back.
We took the attitude with ours, if you decide to change, just get what you can for them and that's it - no use contemplating what you have spent on them - just look forward to the next purchase, not back LOL
No disrespect whatsoever to UK300 owners, but with the advent of the STI7 and the way it is priced, the UK300 looks vary poor value for money. It's not that the UK300 is overpriced, but that the STI7 is probably underpriced....good reason to buy a couple
