Adjustable top mount bolts

Adjustable top mount bolts
I have just realised that the previous owner of my car has fitted adjustable top mounts but has used the wrong bolts to fix the shock centre to the centre of the top mount. I have found the correct bolts in the car but they are an M14 and the shocks i have are an M12. These bolts have a sleeve on them to ensure they sit central in the top mount. Does anyone know where i can get the correct bolts?
I was told by the previous owner that he had changed the shocks. Do you think that he may have replaced them with the wrong shocks? Does anyone know the thread size of the centre shaft on a classic 95 wrx?
Need help here asap please as at the moment they are just held on with normal nuts and nothing to centralise the shock within the topmount and i would assume very dangerous.
I hope someone knows what i am talking about

If they are not central, have they have been adjusted as part of a geometry set-up ?
Either get the car checked out again, or if it looks wrong left to right then get the whole lot adjusted !
IMHO

Hi Dunx, you are getting the wrong idea. The bolt that secures the actual strut to the top mount is wrong. The adjustable part of the top mount is fine

i don't suppose someone could measure the thred size of their classic shock? It is very easy to get to from under the bonnet. It will be either 12 or 14mm

erm...
12mm socket for topmmount nuts.
12mm socket for brake pipe retainer bolt
12mm socket for ABS sensor wire retainer bolt
19mm socket and 19mm spanner for bottom strut bolts.
17mm or 19mm socket for top strut nut.
No idea quite how useful this info will be to you but the guy who originally posted it works for Powerstation.
