Roll bars will not stiffen the ride if the bushes are ok.
They will however reduce the roll of the car during cornering, I think this is what you mean?

IMHO:
22mm front bar and 24mm rear bar with solid links in each corner will work well, Whiteline of course!
Graham.

I have just put the Whiteline Alloy Drop links on to a standard 02STi and it is quite a surprising difference with no other changes.
The roll is significantly less, and the ride is quite a bit firmer.

I am very pleased with the difference, I don't think you need to change the roll bars to get a very positive improvement

NO !
Don't waste your time, it's a dead easy job to change the rear bar, I didn't even need to jack the car up, took about 75 minutes....

But get an adjustable bar if you have kids/family to carry around.

You won't regret it, best value mod I've done to mine, honest !
