Default Perrin ALK

Looking at the relative spec. of the Whiteline and Perrin anti-lift kits, it seems that the Whiteline gives approx. 0.5 deg. increase in castor while, according to the TSL description of the Perrin, that can give + 2 deg. which seems rather a lot? I'm therfore a bit nervous about the Perrin version!
Has anyone got one of these in use at the moment? If so, how is it? Any feedback would be welcome.

Has anyone any comment regarding the caster angle increase?

IMHO:
an additional 2 degrees caster using the 'ALK' method seems wat too much, more 0.5 deg, similar to the Whiteline parts.

I could be very wrong, but check with TSL would sell them.

looking at the perrin kit is seems as if it only alters it by 0.5 as standard but they give you shims/spacers to allow up to 2 deg. Need someone who has actualy got one to confrim this though.

mickyjeff in the project thread has just fitted this kit and maybe able to confirm this.

Cheers

That seems logical although I can't remember seeing mention of that in the fitting instructions on the Perrin website. (I'll go back and re-read)
Does the subframe support bracket need to be removed to fit the part on the STi? As the suspension arm itself doesn't need to be removed to fit the ALK on the STi, it would be nice to get away without too much dismantling!

well looking at the instructions it would seem I was completely wrong! no mention of any adjustment at all, so looks like its set to near to 2deg+ change.

So as you say need feedback from someone who has tried it.

a quick bit of searching nasioc seems to come out with the whiteline antilift kit to be the most popular choice over the pond.

I remember an old post from harvey about ALKs thats interesting reading you might want to have a search for it.

The Perrin instructions include removal of the subframe support bracket, I assume for access but as it is re-assembled using spacer plates to lower the bracket, there must be a clearance issue when the ALK is installed? Does this also apply to the Whiteline item?

The Whiteline part simply substitutes for the stock bushed pivot casting at the rear of the lower wishbone.
Get the stock one off (remove one big nut and 2 chassis bolts) and grease/slide the Whiteline ALK block back on.
Realign the front end.
