Default Oh here we go

Posting this for my brother. He's got an 03 blobeye STI Type Uk, and is getting a knocking noise from the rear drivers side suspension. It sounds like it is coming from the strut itself, could it be the top mount on the strut. It is most noticable in town driving. What could it be and how do you fix it. Oh had it up in the air on a ramp and none of the rear lower suspension is loose or worn and it deffo sounds as though it is coming from the strut area.

It is 'normally' the rear nearside strut that clonks at slow speeds over speed humps etc, that sort of road surface.
Many theories as to the reasons...but none conclusive.

This is the O/S rear, but it is as you describe but it also makes the noise if you push the back end down, but the noise is only on the O/S, whats the fix and how do you get to the nut on the top of the rear strut.

On classics you have to take the reat seats out to put your rear strut bar in...
