Default fitting suspension?

how hard is it to fit the suspension to an 02wrx? im thinking of getting some sti struts(complete with springs and top mount)to replace mine. just wondered if i can do it myself? or is there special tools needed? cheers!!

If the struts are complete and ready assembled I would suggest a big breaker bar, about £20 in halfords, to get the nuts undone is the most you would need.

If they are not assembled you will need coil spring compressors. Either way you could prbably do the job yourself

From the quick glance I have had at the job it looks quite straight forward on a scobby and you shouldn't need to pop the steering arm ball joint.

You should get the wheel alignment checked after you do the job though.

Did this to my old WRX Wagon 2001. Eibach's and JDM Sti struts. It was wee wee to do but as stated big extensions, loads of lube and then get the geo/alignment done. Be aware that early Bug's need the rear top mounts changing for Eibachs

Did mine recently, and apart frm trying to fit the rears to the front which held me back a bit, the hardest part was undoing those bolts.

No ball joints need be removed
