Exclamation Back End All Over 2001 WRX

i have a bug eye 2001 WRX, only had it a few weeks. its already had all the drop links changed for the test but its my first scoob and need to ask if i have a problem on the rear shocks/springs or maybe tyres

going in a straight line over bumps the back end seems to skip out and bounce around a lot. i know i have really cheap crap tyres on and i will be changing them but is this a common thing! also on corners its very easy for the rear to slide.

or does it need the geometry setting up

cheers in advance

I have a MY2002 Bugeye wrx with whiteline solid droplinks and 22mm adustable whiteline rear antiroll bar set on middle and even when I push hard the back end is reluctant to go. (I have 18" wheels on Pirellis at the moment). I am contemplating setting on hard to feel the difference.

I had a set of **** tyres on and my *** spent most of the time glancing the hedges. Sounds like there is something up with your suspension too.

I have my Whiteline ARB set on "stiffy" - almost gives me a stiffy driving it cos the handling is razor sharp !

Also had pish tyres on my Scoob when I got it and it cheerfully chucked its tail out at the first sight of a raindrop. Now have Toyo T1Rs - grippy as a very grippy thing !

yep... get a larger sway bar...
car will have a much more neutral feeling and be 100% easier to control

Debateable. Change rear first and see what it's like. You might actually put the handling bias back towards understeer if the front end is too stiff.

rear shocks are notorious for going soft on bugey wrx's... try the bounce test.. I bet it feels really soft.. get em changed...
