Default leda rebuild and progressive springs

This is my first post on any forum so please excuse any stupid mistakes!
I have recently bought a 2000 classic with leda b coilovers and am investigating a rebuild as one of the springs is broken. Having done number of searches and remembering from scoobynet of old all the research on ledas, does anyone have any opinions on what direction to go.

The car will be fast (bumpy) road so spring rates will not be huge. springs - progressive, fixed rate or fixed and tender?. I know some have variations on this theme and would love to here there feedback.

Also I know leda are gone but David (ex leda) at Gaz will do rebuilds.

Any and all help appreciated

Thanks for listening
Ciaran

ciaran

Only just seen your post.

I bought my car (STI 5 RA Ltd) with Leda B coilovers. After more than a year, I booked into Leda to have them refurbished. The expected cost was circa £500. When they were removed it was discovered that 2 of the springs were broken, so a full set of new springs were needed. So I decided to go for a set of progressive tender springs and linear springs - 2 springs on each strut with a collar between them.

They are good springs. The progressive tender setup gives a bit more roll - which is great on tight bends as it gives all 4 wheels better contact on the road.

I have had them on for a year now and the refurb/ new spring combo cost me £1000.

However I am likely to change in the near future for a set of 3-way adjustables from AST or Exe-tc - but then they are nearly 3 times the cost

If you want to know more or would be interested in buying my set then drop me a PM

Cheers

Terry
