I was recently told that i need to have a 4 wheel alignment by my dealer and he wanted £100 or so quid for it. Is this the same as tracking adjustment, or am i being paranoid that they're trying to screw me?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

yes... i'd recommend getting the full anti bump steer setup and 4 wheel alignment personally though but it depends what you want

if your cars never had its wheels aligned before chances are its way off so should be done

Does sound about right for "dahn sarf" ...

depends whats done... really should take a couple of hours or so to adjust all the variables. You should be able to set the car to your own preferences within reason.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Got funny story to tell you guys.

Got Prodrive settings on my scoob the other day, techie gave me a sheet with measurements before and after. The left rear had +0.29 toe and the right rear had -0.1 toe...

Basically the rear wheels were pointing the the same direction, just not straight ahead.

Glad i sorted it out now!

As a side issue, where did you get it done in the end?

I've used Mill Lane in Basingstoke. They are a Subaru dealer with all the equipment and it only cost £45 or there abouts. I'm not sure if they will do alignment for Japanese imports though.

I've also used Micheldever Tyres (M3 J8) again for about £45 or there about. And they will do any car, but you need to book in advance and get there for 8am.

Both my previous Impreza's have been done there, and I'm always please with the job!

That price is way to high. You can't adjust much on a Subaru plus they are one of the easiest cars to adjust. When they do the job get them to install camber bolts in the rear, and get them to set it up properly, because from the factory they are quite different from right to left because they can't be adjusted.

I wouldn't pay more than 50 Quid, ring around a couple of places and check what they quote you, if they are all around 100 Quid then that is fine.
