Default Coilover upgrade

Hi, i am looking to uprate the suspension on my 96 STI Classic.

I am looking to go down the coilover route but am unsure what to go for or what is reccomended. I have looked at the Tein super street set up which looks good for what i want. Fast road, occaisional track use and adjustable in height and damping.

At the moment i have standard shocks and unknown (red) lowered springs, which are very low and suffer from arch scrape on big bumps!

I want to spend about £600 ish on the coilover kit.

I will be also going down the whiteline ARB route as well.

Any advice and recommendations would be greatly recieved. Thanks in advance.

Save some more money and fit AST oneway adjustables with 40/30 or preferably 50/40 springs
Alignment by Power Station, additional bits from Whiteline and you will have a great chassis!

Can add a lot more detail if you wish, but a call to Rich or Curtis at Power Station will sort you out depending on the car's useage.

Hi, cant find any info on the AST one way's. The ones i have found from AST are £895. The Teins come in cheaper than that. Are there any other options? Ta.

The single adjustables are the £895 deal. I have had them and they are really nice and very easy to set-up well to the springs. The 3 ways are a massive leap forward, but much harder to get the best from.

For a nice road car, spend the £895 + whiteline + Power Station alignment by Curtis or Andy.

eibach pro street s coilovers are another option .stainless steel bodies so the wont rust . the coilovers bodies are made by kw and use eibach springs. i use them on a 98 terzo running 285bhp and are amazing , even better once i had the fast road allignment done at tsl

coilovers i believe were £845 and fast road allignment was about £120 if i remember correctly. fitted the myself so save a few quid there

Just fitted a set of Tein Super Streets on my car, just got to wire the EDFC in now and set the ride hieght.

Also got solid rear drop links and 22mm ADJ ARB to go on, just need to get front links and an ALK then get all aligned ready for the spring.

2 popular options are:
KYB AGX (adjustable) Shocks and Eibach Springs
or
STI Suspension

Camskill do the KYB AGX's for £485:

My car is an STI. And it is fitted with red springs, not sure what make. It sits very low and i suffer from arch rub when pushing it or large bumps. I dont think the ride quality is quite what it should be and i want to improve on this and have a certain amount of adjustability. I am loving it so far but i think it has more to give with a few replacements and tweeks. Bit undecided now about wheather to go for coilovers or an uprated standard set up.

Which whiteline bits would compliment the AST's?
ARB's?
Drop links?
Anti lift kit?
Camber bolts?
Would they all be ok or would some bits be over the top?
Thanks

IMHO (and 3 years of experience):
22mm bar in the front/24 in the rear + drop links if not steel on the car now.
ALK is good for a road car, go for road spec bushes
Camber bolts in all 4 corners, but rear minimum

Good alignment (or the above is all wasted) at PowerStation via Curtis or Andy there (they know what to do!)
Do not underestimate the alignment job's importance.

That lot will give you quite a sharp chassis for the road, and good on track too.
Don't go too hard on spring rates though, 50/40 Fr/Rr at most.

No surprise it that PowerStation do this package as a complete kit.

You will not be dissapointed.
