Default what to do on my uk turbo classic?

i have a MY01 uk turbo classic (last of the classics) on original 18 inch PFF7 wheels with 225/35/18 tyres.
i want to improve my handling but need to make sure that the rear tyres dont rub when i lower the car.
was wondering if you guys could advise me on what to go for i.e coilovers or springs and new shocks or just springs. just wanted to lower the car slightly and have been told eibach springs are the best.
please can someone shed some light on this and advise me. thank you.

A good start would be to fit front and rear droplinks, rear anti-roll bar and get some decent geometry settings on the car..The improvement is amazing.

Then see what you think P1 suspension is also a very worthwhile upgrade..

as Dan says
and if it's handling you want then go for 17s with 215/40 tyres
if you have to keep the 18s then you really want 215/35 on them not 225s

consider KYB AGX adjustable shocks ,
and,yes eibachs are the best. dropped mine about 20 - 25mm
