I have a problem with the rear suspension on my p1 at very low speed ie 10mph or less there is a knocking at the back and it feels like a brake sticks on as the wheel turns almost like a warped disk.
its been to a garage and they said the top mounts have gone. i know this explains the knocking but surely not the wheel sticking feeling i get too. i have been told by a fellow member on here that the damper can cause the sticking problem, whats peoples thoughts on this.
the mount alone is costing 400 quid to get sorted and im a bit concerned that a full set of dampers would cost thousands.
does any one know where i can get cheap replacements for these or is there an after market kit that would replace them with a similar feel and handling. a full kit would be great with everything needed to replace the lot

Is that £400 for the complete job? How much for the parts only?
You may find that most of that figure is for labour.... could be wrong though.

As top mounts seem to be the flavour of the month I've just read the thread (part way down the page) 'which top mounts' looks like you can get upgraded STI solid top mounts for $120 dollars a pair from the usa ... with the way the dollar is it should work out fairly cheap (plus postage and customs)
