is this the reason??

If you have put the drop links in the top pic onto the rear, surely they are catching on the ARB, that's why the rear ones are more horseshoe shaped, to wrap around and clear the ARB :/

Sorry for the hijack but I have just installed my rear alloy droplinks, and I have noticed a really irritating squealing/rubbing rubber kinda sound. Now when I installed them, I didn't put any grease on, could this be the cause? All bolts are nice and tight so its not movement from that respect.

i took a quick look the other day and i couldnt see where it would touch

I'm surprised!
What model car do you have?
I have never seen an Impreza with lower control arms like those before.
Is it an Impreza or a Forrester/Legacy??
I do understand why you think you have the right links, but the angle of the link is not 'right' to my mind.(too angled-over)
Graham.

Hi,
The rear swaybar endlinks on STis from the last monthsof '04 on, are straight, balljointed, like the front ones.
The Whiteline parts numbers are:
KLC32 (obsolete part, 'till stocks last)
KLC047 (spherical bearing, adjustable)
Cheers

I imagine when you are driving (cornering) it hard the link is almost moving horizontal and maybe even going 'over-center' putting the whole system in bind. When the car wants to go level after a hard bend it has to jump back into place.
This will make a lot of noise.
Personally, those links are at an alarming angle and I just cannot believe Whiteline engineered them that way.
I suspect the roll bar is wrong for the car, not the links.
If the bar 'arms' were considerably shorter (50mm at a guess) then the links would be upright and so function correctly. Using a smaller roll bar diameter the correct roll rate can be engineered.
If it were my car I would remove it all and put the stock unit back onto the car till sorted.
Just my opinion.
Job is the real expert.

Hi Graham,
Just looked at the pictures. I think you are right.
Rasheed, what part number swaybar did you fit. From the pictures it looks like 'BSR36 (X)Z'.
Your car will probably need 'BSR37 (X)Z'.
BSR36 bars are for C shaped endlinks.
BSR37 bars are for straight endlinks.
Cheers
