Lowering my 05 WRX Wagon
Just wondered which way to go
1 Prodrive WRX Springs
2 Fit STI Springs to my existing WRX dampers
3 Low miliage 2nd hand STI springs and dampers
4 Eibach on existing WRX dampers
Has anybody done any of the above ?
I'm not intrested in slamming the car i want the best roadholding for the money.

Prodrive Springs.
Transformed the car - lower, firmer but rides better in a less wallowing kind of way and steering feel improved too particularly with a proper laser alignment and more than 1 degree negative camber at the front.
Car is so much more fun to drive and Prodrive did a fantastic job of matching the revised springs to the original dampers.
Roughly from memory it cost approx £350 at a dealer and the alignment at an independent specialist around £50 (haven't got the exact figures to hand).

Eibachs with WRX dampers is a lovely combination for comfort and improved performance. The extra money saved could go into solid drop links which are the best mod £ for £ I have yet done on my car.

Got Prodrive Springs fitted ( 02 WRX) today along with two new rear shockers and then full prodrive geo settings...............
Observations as follows :-
less pitch and dive during acceleration
way less roll ( almost neglible) on beds
car corners a lot flat and thus mair grip all round
confidence in the wet is greatly increased
car feels planted at 70 mph +
initial turn in is tremendous
mud flaps may need hoisted up a notch
they do not bottom out even at high speeds over a series of washboard style bumps
look a bit "pimpier" with the 30mm drop
Already had Whiteline rear ARB on middle settings and drop links
Cheers

Option 2 and 3 are going to be somewhat problematic- sedan springs on a wagon sag in the rear (~ 8mm), sedan struts on a wagon cost you ~ .7 degrees of precious neg camber- neither ideal from ahandling standpoint.
Eibach and Prodrive while not wagon specific work as they are designed to lower more in the front than the rear, thus on a wagon you get close to a even drop- both are designed around the oe strut.
A very popular wagon spring choice stateside is the STi WRX pink spring- they have both a sedan AND wagon specific set. Spring rates are quite a bit firmer than either the Eibach or Prodrive, the lowering is more modest as well ~ 10-15mm. Not sure if they are an option in the UK or not, the price is very reasonable- less than both the Eibach or Prodrive
