Spring's 'n' things

Spring's 'n' things
hello. just had a quote for £150 to fit some lowering springs for an MY06 WRX. Was told that the rear seats have to come out to fit them?? Does this sound expensive?
Also, while Im on the subject, which springs do people recommend - are Eibach any better than cheaper ranges like Jamex?

Don't know about in saloons - in my wagon the strut tops are easy to get at in the rear - but having just tackled a spring swap at the front, I wouldn't say £150's unreasonable for a spring change. It's not a fun job to do IMHO. I'd definitely get Eibach rather than Jamex though. Do a quick search on here and you will find Eibach are the weapon of choice although that is for handling rather than the lowering effect.

yep rear seats out to get to the top mounts
i've fitted eibachs and they're great loads better than stock spring and it lowered my scoon by 20-25 mm - bargin
warning - i stronlgy recommend you get the geometry done as the springs/shocks are coming off. Go to someone like PS and get this done properly as they know their scoobs

The rear seats do indeed have to be removed but it only takes a minute or two to take them out. Make sure you buy a spring kit developed for the 06MY cars as earlier WRX models had different struts. Earlier kits may fit but won't be right for the application. Changing bumpstops also makes a huge difference.
