Type R / RA DCCD Suspension setups
Just curious what others are running and what they have found works.
IMO the dccd R/RA do handle abit differently than the other WRX's
Im in the process of tunning up what i have. I know every one likes different setups but be nice to see what others have done in one place.
Currently
Whiteline
22mm Front ARB - set Soft
22mm Rear ARB - set Soft (soon to play with the settings)
Alloy endlinks rear
Steering bush
Tein SS-P Adjustables
Cusco underbrace
STi CF factory Strutbrace

A friend of mine hill climbed a MY 97 Sti RA with dccd, and mine was a straight Sti.
I drove the cars back to back on a wet sprint track on a private day. The difference was huge. Both cars were essentially the same mods, ARB's and I had an ALK.
Thr RA had little understeer and mine huge skip loads of it.
He set his to be essentially a RWD Impreza.

Been reading about your hillclimb special / and exploits - very interesting.
Keep up the good work !
Ever get the DCCD gearbox ?
I have noticed the front 22mm bar has worked very well on my car -
It seems to go sharper thru the roundabouts now. Which i was not expecting.
Im wonderng if the more rear wheel bias of the DCCD cars makes it more beneficial than other Subs - to have a bigger front bar.

No money for the DCCD, and not too sure i need one, but good LSD's would help, and so would slicks
My Sti has 22mm ARB's all round, but I have a nice new 24mm Whiteline 3 way adjustable for the rear just arrive with Whiteline solid drop links
I'm told and I think this will improve things, only one way to find out
I do believe that the 22mm front and middle hole 22mm rear really make a difference to balance, and it corners so flat:
Not showing off here, just trying to show the car's chassis that AST/PowerStation have helped with:
