Default How to install front swaybar

Hi

I have a JDM v4 Sti. I have put swaybars before in non sti.

But the front links of the Sti have me puzzled.

I try to undo the nut on the links - but the whole assemble seems to just go round and round.

So how do u undo the metal Sti links from the sway ?

TIA

!
You insert an allen key into the end of the bolt!
You will need to clean the crud out of the hole first which is why you haven't seen it yet.
Inserting the key (4mm a/f iirc) allows you to stop rotation and get the job done.

Just be careful, make sure the allen key is in properly and you've used plenty of wd40 on the nut first. Quite easy to round them off and then you'll need to cut it off.

Also if really rusty threads, a wire brush over the protruding thread helps the nut come off easier.

haha - ARB's it is then...

Just for anybody doing a search.

After a few test drives - Im pleased with the results.

This last week - installed.

Put in a adj rear whiteline ARB 22mm. Soft setting.
Was a noticable improvement made car much more pointy. Flat obviously.

Put in a adj front whiteline ARB 22mm. Soft setting.
I was not sure this would do much - but its made the car much flater again.
Car seems tighter at the front - more solid thru the corners.

At higher speeds - bit of understeer creeping in.

note probable set the ARB rear to a harder setting in future.

Over all well worth doing both IMO.

Running Tein SS-P - settings firm but not hard due to poor b roads.
Also alloy endlinks.
